At WEIGHTPACK, Inc. we manufacture custom engineered and fabricated machinery for customers in a variety of industries. The project highlighted here was designed as a net weight rinser/filler/capper system for a customer in the food processing industry.

It utilizes our Tribloc system which includes a bottle rinser, net weight filler, and mechanical capper. The Tribloc system is especially designed for viscous food products, bringing net weight filling technology to an industry that has previously had to rely on less accurate volumetric piston fillers. Our system is perfect for peanut butter, jams, and spreadable cheese products. It is designed to be quickly drained and cleaned, providing flexibility for quick changeovers.

The system is made from 304 and 316 stainless steel and plastic to provide excellent durability and corrosion resistance through heavy use and cleaning. Corrosion resistance and cleanability are further enhanced by polishing the nozzle to a high gloss and the inside of the tank to a .2 micron mirror finish. The design minimizes product waste at changeover and the patented ceramic product distributer protects against contamination by foreign particles.

The rinser cleans the inside of the bottles before filling using either a wet rinse or air blower, depending on the customer's needs. The tube style filler provides direct flow of the product to the filler nozzle without the need for an on-machine hopper. The filler station includes a nozzle, a clamp to correctly position the bottle, a weight system at each cell, and dedicated electrical components. The mechanical capper completes the system. Weight cells at the filler determine whether a bottle meets the minimum pre-set weight requirements and the exact net fill weight of every container. Any container not meeting standards is marked for rejection. Sensors on the capper turret check every container for missing and misplaced caps. Any containers flagged at the capper sensor are marked for rejection. Volume and line speed for each system are set depending on each customer's specifications. In process testing/inspection performed
  • Net Weight Cells under each container on filler turret record:
    • If empty container meets preset weight range
    • Exact net fill weight of every container
    • Any container not meeting standards is automatically marked for rejection
  • Sensors on capper turret sense missing or improperly applied caps and mark the container for rejection

  • Any product requiring quick changeover, and especially well-suited for high viscosity products.
  • Fill volume and line speed determined by pitch of machine selected to cover customer requirements
Delivery/Turnaround Time
  • Based on backlog at time of order, a Tube type Monobloc or Tribloc can normally be shipped 5 to 6 months after final specifications and down payment
